I've retested thermal performance for these 2 models. Here are the results:
Onyx (9750H+2070MQ)
Notes:
Max 88C, ~3.41-3.42GHz
GPU - Unigine Heaven (Extreme preset, 1080p no fullscreen)
Average: 80C, 1600MHz
Undervolted: 76-78C, 1650MHz@0.8V
FPU+Heaven
CPU: Max 95-96C, 2.8+GHz, 41-44W
GPU: Max 81-82C, 1455MHz@0.7V (base turbo clock for 2070MP)
(no problem handling heat in Game mode, refer to Prodigy testing results below which has same cooling solution)
Prodigy (9750H+1660Ti)
Notes:
Max 80C, ~3.08-3.1GHz
GPU - Unigine Heaven (Extreme preset, 1080p no fullscreen)
Average: 74C, ~1760MHz
Undervolted: 70-71C, 1830MHz@0.894V
FPU+Heaven
CPU: Max 95-96C, 2.76-2.83GHz, 42-45W
GPU: Max 81-82C, 1740MHz@0.85V (within turbo clock for 1660Ti desktop)
FPU+Heaven with Game mode (PL1/PL2 will drop to 50W/65W)
CPU: Max 95-96C, 2.91-2.96GHz, 47-50W (mostly 47-48W)
GPU: Max 78C, ~1580MHz, 80W
CPU: Max 95-96C, 47-50W (mostly 48-50W)
GPU: Max 76-78C, 1590MHz@0.769V

- CPU is undervolted -100mv core+cache
- BIOS N.1.52, EC 2.04.09
- PL1 70W, PL2 85W
- BD PROCHOT is 95C
- GPU driver is 431.60
- Test is conducted in A/C room (~24C)
- Laptop is plugged in
- Core temp difference is ~6C
